Our Story

About AVR

The Story of Adventure Vehicle Roundup

Origin

Where a Simple Idea Became a Movement

Adventure Vehicle Roundup was born from one simple idea: bring people together who love the outdoors, the open road, and the freedom that comes with it.

Our History

The AVR Timeline

2016

The Beginning

Outdoor enthusiast David Yates launched a small overland meet-up called Tents & Tires. Just a handful of people camping, sharing gear, swapping stories, and building friendships under Georgia's night sky. The spark was lit.

2019

The First AVR

That spark became something bigger. The first official Adventure Vehicle Roundup brought together a growing community of overlanders, campers, and outdoor lovers ready for something more intentional.

2020–2021

The Pause

The world stopped. But in that pause, people rediscovered the outdoors. Families took road trips. Friends found trails again. Nature became a refuge — and AVR's community grew stronger in waiting.

2022

The Return

AVR returned stronger than ever as a twice-a-year gathering welcoming overlanders, vanlifers, RVers, weekend campers, and first-time adventurers.

2023–2024

A New Voice

Corey Webb joined AVR as a volunteer, helping with logistics and community building — eventually stepping in as the event's official MC. By 2024, he earned the nickname "The Voice of AVR."

2025

A New Chapter

Corey Webb officially took the helm. With a background in event production, storytelling, travel, and community engagement, he brought new energy and a larger vision for what AVR could become.

The People Behind the Movement

AVR doesn't happen alone. These are the partners, families, and organizations who help make this community what it is.

Trailbound Impact

Purpose Beyond the Pavement

Trailbound Impact grew out of a love for off-roading, overlanding, and a desire to create a laid-back community meetup with a greater purpose. What started in a Starbucks parking lot has grown into something much bigger — charity events that have raised thousands of dollars for nonprofits and local addiction treatment centers.

For Trailbound, it has never been about the biggest build or the most gear. It is about community, exploration, and helping others along the way.

Brooks

Brooks has always loved the outdoors, but it was not until he got his truck that he truly discovered off-roading. As he puts it, "I feel closest to and can see the magnificence of my Creator through nature."

His love for exploring led him to fall in love with off-roading and adventuring in his truck. He spent every chance he could exploring in his Silverado and has since rediscovered a love for camping through events like Adventure Vehicle Roundup, where people from all walks of life come together around a shared passion for adventure and uniquely built vehicles.

He is steadily building out his overland setup and loves his Ranger Tremor, which gets him just about anywhere he wants to go.

"Reach out if you ever want to go explore some Forest Service roads."

Caylee

Caylee is, first and foremost, Brooks' wife and Norah's mom. Their crew also includes a pup named Luna and two cats named Ellie and Ollie, who definitely keep life lively. She is a nurse and freelance artist by trade — but an adventurer in every free moment she can find.

Caylee kind of stumbled into the overlanding and off-road world thanks to her husband, but like so many others, their family truly found this community during the COVID era — looking for a way to get out, slow down, and find peace in the middle of a chaotic season. Their family has always felt closest to God in His creation, and time outdoors has been a steady reminder of His faithfulness and beauty.

Through this community, they have found encouragement, friendship, and genuine connection with people from all walks of life. Caylee and her family are thankful for the opportunity to be part of AVR — and they want to give back however they can by encouraging others, building meaningful relationships, and being a positive presence wherever they go.

Vision

Where AVR Is Going

Under Corey's leadership, AVR is growing into a movement — one that builds bridges between people of different backgrounds, experience levels, and vehicle types through a shared love of adventure and the outdoors.

The best chapters are still being written.
