The Story of Adventure Vehicle Roundup
Where a Simple Idea Became a Movement

Adventure Vehicle Roundup (AVR) was born from one simple idea:
bring people together who love the outdoors, the open road, and the freedom that comes with it.

It all started back in 2016, when outdoor enthusiast David Yates launched a small Overland meet-up called Tents & Tires. It wasn’t big. It wasn’t fancy. It was just a handful of folks camping out, sharing gear, swapping stories, and building friendships under Georgia’s night sky.

At the time, David was running a camping equipment rental business and growing the Expedition Georgia community online. People were hungry for connection, eager to explore, and ready to trade the noise of daily life for the peace of a campfire. That spark of community kept growing, until in 2019, the first official Adventure Vehicle Roundup was born.

Then the world stopped…

The pandemic shut things down, but in that pause something powerful happened—people rediscovered the outdoors. Families took road trips. Friends reconnected on trails. Nature became a refuge again.

So in 2022, David revived AVR as a full-scale, twice-a-year gathering—spring and fall—welcoming overlanders, vanlifers, RVers, weekend campers, and anyone who simply wanted a new adventure. The community returned stronger, more grateful, and more excited than ever.

By 2023, Corey Webb joined the AVR team as a volunteer, supporting logistics, helping build the community, and eventually becoming the event’s official MC. In 2024, he earned the nickname “The Voice of AVR.”

Then came early 2025, when Corey—founder of Corey Webb Travels—stepped into leadership and officially took the helm. Blending his background in event production, storytelling, travel, and community engagement, Corey brought new energy, a wider vision, and a commitment to making AVR not just an event… but a movement.
